The Flumes are a series of water bridges that you can walk on alongside the Feather River. Get low enough and take a dip. The beauty and adventure that this spot holds allows for a truly unique summer experience.

2. Chico Certified Farmers Market

Nothing beats an early Saturday morning at the Chico Certified Farmers Market. Located Downtown, this lively market offers fresh quality locally grown food and handmade artisan products to the community. From fresh corn on the cob, to watermelon, berries, and peaches this market offers an assortment for simple summer BBQ’s to gourmet gatherings
3. One Mile: The Perfect Picnic Spot
Pull out a blanket and pack a lunch because it is time for a summer picnic. Lounge in the shade under one of the great sycamore trees, walk or ride your bike on one of the paths along the stream, play games in one of the large grass areas, or splash around in the concrete “Sycamore Pool” dammed and filled in the 1930’s. For a day of summer fun, One Mile Recreation Area located in Lower Bidwell Park, will not leave you disappointed.

5. Salmon Hole
One of the most scenic swimming experiences in Chico, Salmon Hole. The large natural pools surrounded by groves of scrub oak trees and steep cliffs offer plenty of shade and beauty. The long trek to the refreshing water and scenic environment are well-worth the reward. Discover this hidden gem located further up the Yahi Trail into Upper Bidwell Park.

Sunrise and sunsets are extra special at the Butte Creek Canyon Lookout. Gain a new perspective of Chico that is truly spectacular. For years people have admired this epic view and some even put a lock on the fence with their initials to remember their special moment there.
