A buyers first impression is the only impression. Simple touches from staging open up a space and highlight its best qualities. Staging is a time for collaboration and showcasing the best of your home.

Let’s dive into all things home staging.
When it comes to the staging point in the process of listing a home, many people question, is it worth it to hire a professional stager? What are the benefits? The answer to that first question is almost always YES! It is worth it. In a 2020 study conducted by the Real Estate Staging Association, out of a survey of 13,000 staged homes, over 85% of those homes sold 5-23% over their listing price. When you hire a professional stager you not only catch the buyers attention but you also stand out from the competition. A staged home can increase attention, decrease your time on the market and bring in more offers. A professional stager does not usually come in and stage the entire house. Instead, the stager works with the seller to highlight the homeowners current pieces and make their home shine in the best possible light.
Staging Tips From Parkway:
1. Declutter and keep it minimal and simple. 2. Depersonalize the room, remove all pictures of you and your family, including any personal items. 3. When it doubt hire a professional. A professional can help make small adjustments to your home or do a full stage, let them handle the heavy lifting.
Resources from The Community
Another great factor about staging is the ability to use local vendors, local artists, and local goods. In the town of Chico that is filled with an abundance of community there is also plenty of inspiration. Below Parkway has highlighted 4 local entrepreneurs that have pieces or goods that can help contribute to an excellent stage.

Virtual staging allows you to create images that can turn an empty house into a home. This is an alternative option and it does come at the fraction of the cost of physically staging a home. There are many different software platforms that allow you to virtually stage a home, as well as professionals who will do the task for you—just ask our Parkway agents about it, they know who to call! Below you can see two examples of the before and afters of virtual staging. Virtual Staging: Rei Ellis, Parkway Real Estate Co.
