2. Energy Efficiency

There are many different “green features” that can appeal to a buyer. From ENERGY STAR windows and appliances, to efficient lighting that uses less energy than traditional bulbs, to triple-pane insulating glass windows, and solar panels.

3. Outdoor Living Space

When it comes to outdoor living there are many different features for a buyer to consider. The top 5 most sought after outdoor features are exterior lighting, a rear porch, a front porch, a patio, and a deck. Over 75% of buyers desire at least one of these features with a higher desire for luxuries like an outdoor kitchen, a built-in grill or fireplace—which increase with price.

4. A Laundry Area

A lot of buyers are drawn towards the idea of having a laundry room on the first floor, however, any laundry room is a bonus. It allows for a designated area for washing clothes that can help reduce noise and increase organization.

5. An Updated Kitchen

When it comes to the kitchen, there are many different styles and layouts that can make or break a deal. Positive features that stand out to a buyer are: a walk-in pantry, table space for eating, a central island, a double sink, and drinking water filtration.

6. Community Space

Chico is a great town that values community and relationships. The sense of community can be strong and it’s a component that buyers strongly consider. Community amenities such as walking and jogging trails, park areas, close proximity to retail space, and an overall walkable community are great incentives for buyers.
